Ballroom & Latin

The splendour, the glitter and the glamour of Ballroom and Latin dancing (as seen on BBC's "Strictly Come Dancing") has never been easier to master! Our team of experienced instructors will guide you through the basic steps of the Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba and Jive! Ballroom and Latin can be enjoyed in both formal and informal settings, at parties and dinner dances. Though it may seem a style suited to adults, it is increasingly popular with children as we offer the opportunity to compete and represent the City-Limits School. Let us revive the most elegant of social pastimes and get the whole of Sheffield Ballroom dancing. Whether you have to left-feet or a budding Fred Astaire, we’ll have you waltzing up a storm in no time. You never know, you might spot Darren & Lilia!

Ballet

Don’t worry; if you weren’t the tiny tot in a tutu who took Ballet classes from aged three, it’s never too late to fall in love with this elegant style of dance. Lots of people attend ballet classes for the sheer pleasure of the dance, and not in order to become a professional. Our classes are for all ages and are beneficial for posture, flexibility and mobility. They can also be a solid foundation when learning other styles of dance.

Tap Dance

Tap is for people who like to make music with their feet. In this class, you will learn the basics of how rhythm is created through transference of weight and the action of body-leg-foot. You will learn basic tap steps and ways of combining them into spectacular powerful sequences, as well as the basics of improvisation. Anyone at any age can have a go, and in a very short space of time you can gain a real sense of accomplishment. Please remember to bring your tap shoes with you - the louder you sound the better!

Street Dance

Street dance started appearing in clubs in the USA in the late 1970s. With the help from films such as "Step Up" and groups such as”Diversity”, Street dance has grown in popularity, causing a great demand in dance schools across the UK. Dance to the latest chart music and learn the basics of street and hip-hop in our beginners’ classes – whilst trying the more complicated moves as you progress with your class! It is never too late to start Street Dance we offer classes for tiny tots through to adults, there’s even the opportunity for our kids to join a Crew and perform/compete representing City-Limits.
